Augusta, Sicily
Italy's main oil port. We arrange crude and product freight, storage and inspection at Augusta, beside the Priolo and Augusta refineries.

Augusta sits beside the Augusta–Priolo–Melilli industrial area in southeast Sicily, one of the largest refining and petrochemical clusters in the Mediterranean. The ISAB refinery at Priolo alone has about one-fifth of Italy's refining capacity.
Augusta is also a pricing point: Platts assesses Azeri Light crude on a CIF Augusta basis. We fix crude and product freight, source storage, and appoint inspectors at discharge and loading.
Refineries and ownership
The ISAB refinery is owned by Goi Energy, which agreed in May 2026 to sell its stake to Ludoil, subject to approvals. Sonatrach bought the Augusta refinery from Esso in 2018, together with terminals in Augusta, Palermo and Naples.

The CIF Augusta benchmark
Azeri Light delivered into the Mediterranean is assessed CIF Augusta, and FOB Ceyhan netbacks are derived from it. Port matters fall under the Port Authority of the Eastern Sicilian Sea, and the plants operate under Italian Seveso rules.
