Tank-Farm Availability

Before you call about storage, check what is free. Tank-Farm Availability shows the status of each listed tank, the booked days and price, and where each tank farm sits on the map.

Storage questions usually start with the same one: is there a tank? Tank-Farm Availability answers it before anyone picks up the phone. Each listed tank appears with its current status, and a booked tank shows how many days it is committed for and at what price. Tank farms are pinned on a map, so you can see at a glance which sit near your supply or your market.

The page is a planning tool, not a booking engine. It tells you which terminal to call and what to ask for. A reservation or booking becomes firm only under a signed Tank Storage Agreement with our storage team, and we never take payment to reserve or inspect a tank without one.

Five availability states

Every listed tank shows one of five states. The state describes the tank's commercial and operational position, not the product in it, and it changes when the terminal records a new event: a hold placed, an agreement signed, product received, or a tank taken out of service for inspection or cleaning.

StateWhat it meansWhat you can do
AvailableFree for new business now or from a stated dateAsk our storage team for terms
ReservedHeld for a counterparty while terms are finalizedAsk to be told if the hold lapses
BookedCommitted under a signed agreement; a green light shows the booked days and the pricePlan around it or ask for the next free date

MaintenanceOut of service for inspection, cleaning or repair, such as an API 653 inspectionAsk for the expected return to service

Booked days and price

A green light on a booked tank shows two numbers: how many days the tank is committed for and the price agreed for that period. Together they tell a planner when the tank is likely to come free and what that capacity has been priced at. Storage pricing depends on tank size, product, heating, throughput and term, so a price always belongs to that tank and those terms.

Location on the map

Each tank farm is placed on the map from its address: country, state or province, city and street. The address is converted to a map position once, when the terminal saves it, and shown as a pin. Tap or click a pin to see the tanks listed at that location and the state of each one, so geography and availability can be read together.

Columns the terminal chooses

Not every terminal wants every detail public. The terminal decides which columns appear in its listing, so one listing may show more than another. Some keep the lessee private for commercial reasons; others show it so traders can approach the holder about subletting. The columns below are the ones a terminal can choose from.

  • Owner or lessor: who owns the tank or holds the head lease
  • Lessee: who currently holds the tank under agreement
  • Country and city of the tank farm
  • Phone: the number to call about that tank farm
  • Status, with booked days and price where a tank is booked

Frequently asked questions

Does available mean I can deliver product tomorrow?

Not on its own. Available means the tank is free for new business. Before product arrives we need completed KYC, a signed Tank Storage Agreement, a compatibility check against the tank's service and last product, and a scheduled receipt by ship, barge, rail, truck or pipeline.

What is the difference between reserved and booked?

Reserved is a temporary hold while terms are agreed, and it can lapse. Booked means the tank is committed under a signed agreement, which is why a booked tank shows its contracted days and price.

Why can I not see the lessee for some tanks?

Each terminal chooses which columns to show, and some keep lessee names private. You still see the status and location, and you can call the number shown to ask about the tank.

Can I book a tank online?

No. The page is for planning. Bookings are made with our storage team after KYC and a signed Tank Storage Agreement. Nobody acting for us will ask you to pay to hold or inspect a tank before that agreement exists.
