Bahía Blanca and the nearby Puerto Rosales terminal are the main export outlet for crude from Vaca Muerta, Argentina's shale formation. Platts prices Medanito crude FOB Puerto Rosales.

Oiltanking expanded the Puerto Rosales terminal in 2025, and the new VMOS pipeline and terminal at Punta Colorada will add VLCC loading from late 2026. We fix export tonnage, coordinate slots and appoint inspectors.

Puerto Rosales

The expansion added six 50,000 cubic metre tanks and a 2,000-metre pier with two berths for Aframax, Panamax and Suezmax tankers up to 160,000 tonnes. Dredging to 18 metres has been financed.

VMOS at Punta Colorada

VMOS is a joint project of YPF, Vista, PAE, Pampa, Chevron, Pluspetrol, Shell and Tecpetrol. It will load VLCCs at two offshore buoys and ramp up toward 390,000 barrels a day in 2027. First exports are targeted for December 2026.
