Sectors We Serve

Each part of the oil and liquids chain asks something different of a tank and a ship. These pages explain, in your own terms, what we do for your kind of business.

Executives meeting in the CorEnergy boardroom in front of a large terminal map display

An oil major, a trading house and a regional fuel distributor can book the same tank and want very different things from it. The major wants the tank to behave like part of its own system. The trader wants the right to change its mind. The distributor wants a truck loaded at dawn with the right additive. We organize storage and freight around those differences instead of selling one product to everyone.

These pages describe each sector in its own terms: what it needs from tankage and transport, where the risks sit, and how we work with it day to day. They do not list clients. We do not publish who stores with us, and we do not ask anyone to take our word for what a site visit, an audit or a signed Tank Storage Agreement should prove.

What every sector gets from us

Whatever the sector, the basics do not change. Product is measured at custody transfer to API MPMS practice, so receipts and deliveries reconcile against the bill of lading (B/L) and the outturn report. Every movement carries a tracking number. Every buyer who sees an allocation in our portal has passed KYC first.

  • Segregated or commingled storage, matched to the grade and the contract
  • Freight by tanker, barge, rail, truck and pipeline, arranged from one desk
  • Tracking numbers that work on the public tracker and on a private link
  • A Buyer / Receipt-Holder Portal for KYC-verified buyers

Find your sector

The sectors fall into four groups. Each sector page explains the needs that usually come first, the risks that matter, and the services that answer them. If your business spans two groups, as many integrated companies do, read both pages.

Verification comes before volume

Bulk liquids attract fraud because the documents look technical and the sums are large. Our answer is procedural. We verify the counterparty before anything else happens, and we contract with the party that owns or will own the product. That rule applies to every sector.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with companies outside these sectors?

Yes. The sector pages cover the customers we see most often, not a closed list. Lubricant blenders, asphalt marketers and industrial users also store and move liquids. Tell us the product and the route, and we will say plainly whether we can handle it.

Can you tell me which companies in my sector use your terminals?

No. We keep client relationships confidential, the same way we keep positions and stock levels confidential. If you need assurance, ask for a site visit or an audit against your own protocol.

I am a broker. Where should I start?

Read the brokers page first. We welcome introductions of verified principals, but we contract only with the principal, and KYC applies to every party in the chain, including the broker.

Not sure where you fit?

Describe the product, the volumes and the route. We will point you to the right service and say what we need to verify first.
