Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium

Europe's largest integrated chemical cluster. We arrange chemical and product tankage, freight and inspection at Antwerp-Bruges.

Chemical plants and tank terminals along a wide tidal river with a tanker

Antwerp is home to the largest integrated chemical cluster in Europe, with plants run by BASF, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil and others linked by more than 100 product pipelines. It is the "A" in ARA, the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp oil storage and trading region.

Zeebrugge, merged into the port in 2022, adds LNG storage and transshipment. We arrange chemical and product tankage, freight and inspection.

Chemicals first

Rotterdam is led by crude, while Antwerp is led by chemicals. In 2024 chemicals volumes grew by about 15 percent while diesel fell, and naphtha rose sharply in the first half of 2026.

  • Pipeline transfers within the cluster

The tidal Scheldt

Ships reach Antwerp up the tidal Scheldt, so draft depends on the tide and the berth. The port is owned by the cities of Antwerp and Bruges.
