Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's main Gulf export complex. We arrange VLCC freight, voyage planning and inspection for cargoes lifted at Ras Tanura.

Very large crude carrier at an offshore sea island berth in calm Gulf waters

Ras Tanura is Saudi Aramco's main crude export complex on the Arabian Gulf, with a 550,000 barrel-per-day refinery on the same site. Its Sea Island berths take very large and ultra-large crude carriers.

Arab Light and other Saudi grades sold to Asia are priced as a premium or discount to the Oman/Dubai average. The terminal was shut briefly after a drone strike in March 2026 and loadings had resumed by August. We fix VLCCs, plan voyages around current Gulf conditions and appoint inspectors at loading.
