Durban, South Africa
South Africa's main fuel import gateway. We arrange storage, product freight and inspection in the Island View terminals at the Port of Durban.

Since several South African refineries stopped running, including SAPREF in 2022, the country relies heavily on imported fuel. Most of it arrives at Island View in the Port of Durban, which handles around 70 to 75 percent of South Africa's fuel imports.
Island View hosts terminals run by companies such as Bidvest Tank Terminals, Vopak, Engen, TotalEnergies and Sasol. In 2026 the port authority signed 11 terminal agreements of 25 years each. We source tankage, fix product freight and appoint inspectors at discharge.
The Island View precinct
Island View is a dedicated liquid bulk area of the Port of Durban with berths and pipelines serving many terminal operators. Long-term leases signed in 2026 give operators 25 years, after which the infrastructure passes to the state.
- Tankage for petrol, diesel, jet fuel and chemicals
- Product freight from Asian and Middle East refineries
- Independent inspection at discharge
- Tracking from load port to Durban
Who regulates storage
The Transnet National Ports Authority grants port leases, and NERSA licenses storage facilities and approves storage tariffs.
