Australia Import Terminals
Supplying a fuel-importing nation. We arrange product freight, terminal storage and inspection for imports into Australia's main fuel terminals.

Australia now has only two operating refineries, Viva Energy's Geelong refinery and Ampol's Lytton refinery in Brisbane. Former refineries at Kurnell, Clyde, Bulwer Island and Kwinana have become import terminals, and imports supply about half of the country's fuel.
Importers must hold minimum stocks under the Fuel Security Act. We fix product freight from Asian refineries, source terminal storage and appoint inspectors at discharge.
Pricing and stockholding
Wholesale fuel is sold at the Terminal Gate Price, built on Singapore import parity and monitored by the ACCC. The Minimum Stockholding Obligation, administered by the federal energy department, requires importers to hold set days of petrol, diesel and jet fuel in Australia. In 2026 the government announced a plan to lift diesel and jet reserves further.
| Fuel | Importer obligation (2024) |
|---|---|
| Petrol | 27 days |
| Diesel | 32 days |
| Jet fuel | 27 days |
